Autumn is arguably the best time of the year to be a photographer. With an abundance of colors erupting from the forest floor to the tree canopy above, autumn is a chance to focus on grand landscapes and all the smaller scenes in between. Each year I travel to photograph the fall colors, but I still can’t pick a favorite! For the best variety of colors Vermont and New Hampshire are hard to beat, while Colorado has perhaps the best display of yellow Aspen in the world. The cypresses of Texas and Louisiana turn bright red and orange, and the mixed forests of the Northwoods put on their own colorful show each year. Subtle or impactful, each place has its own unique qualities.
