Minnesota Photography | Land of 10,000 Lakes

The Twin Cities | Minneapolis Skyline | Lake Superior | Limited Edition Landscape Photography

This is a collection of fine art landscape photography by Max Foster showcasing the beauty of Minnesota from the Minneapolis skyline to the waters of the North Shore. Minnesota is a state in the Upper Midwest, Great Lakes, and northern regions of the United States. The state has many lakes, and is known as the "Land of 10,000 Lakes". Its official motto is L'Étoile du Nord (French for The Star of the North). Nearly 55% of its residents live in the Minneapolis–Saint Paul metropolitan area known as the "Twin Cities". The geography of the state consists of western prairies now given over to intensive agriculture; deciduous forests in the southeast, now partially cleared, farmed, and settled; and the less populated North Woods, used for mining, forestry, and recreation.

A Note from the Artist: Minnesota is my home state and where I grew up, so I am particularly fond of the images in this gallery. My first foray into photography began right here in Minneapolis and St. Paul, which both offer great skyline views. Perhaps my favorite Minnesota destination for photography is the North Shore of Lake Superior. With over 150 miles of rocky shoreline, countless streams and rivers and the most elevation variation in MN, it is a world class destination. The Superior National Forest and several state parks line the shore and offer incredible recreational opportunities. At any time of year you may find me hiking on the Superior Hiking Trail, paddle boarding on one of Minnesota's 10,000 lakes or admiring the amazing fall colors. - Max Foster
