Zion National Park is a relatively compact park, but it is bursting with incredible scenery. Perhaps the most famous feature is Zion Canyon and the Narrows, with sandstone walls towering over 2,000 feet above the Virgin River. With a drysuit, water shoes and walking stick you can hike through the canyon and experience its full grandeur. Reflected sunlight creates a stunning orange glow on the canyon walls and is one of the most impressive sights in the Southwest. Within a few hours drive of Zion there are numerous other canyons, each uniquely beautiful. Over the past several years I have photographed and explored many of these areas, and am always looking forward to a return visit!
